Dogs Available for Adoption

bandit.jpg (3322 bytes)Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary's dog program takes in dogs in need of all shapes, sizes, breeds, colors. Dogs are screened for health and temperament before entering the system. Adoption Fee is $105 which includes: spay or neuter, shots, deworming, flea prevention, heartworm negative status, and heartworm prevention. All dogs are kept in foster homes until adopted. You can find out even more details about the personalities of these dogs by e-mailing the dogs' foster home, if the e-mail is listed next to the dog. You may fill out an Adoption Application & Adoption Contract if you are interested in adopting a dog from FFAS. Certain dogs have specific requirements, and needs, so not every application will be approved for every dog. This is to ensure that both adopter and adoptee find their best possible match.

Currently animals are available for potential adoption through our sponsor PetSmart locations in Goodlettsville (Rivergate)  Cats are housed on-site at PetSmart's "Luv-A-Pet Center" during business hours. Dogs are brought to these stores on Saturdays from 10 to 2. All potential adopters must submit an FFAS application, be approved, and then sign a contract with stipulations concerning the animal's welfare. FFAS insures a proper fit between the family and their new pet through follow-up contact with the adopter.

For more information on the dog program: How to volunteer, How to become a foster parent, how to adopt a dog please e-mail Dog Coordinator, Kim Patton

How to Adopt Me

Getty

Hey There! I知 Getty and for one heckuva fun, playful and active home I知 READY! I知 a Min Pin mix that痴 been neutered, had all my shots and tested negative for heartworms. I am a VERY active pup that loves to tear it up with other dogs and I even find cats rather fun to chase and play with sometimes. I have to have a home with another dog to play with otherwise I will get really bored! I have also been told I知 a bit of a little furry Houdini, so you will need a good secure fence and a extra time and patience to work with me so I don稚 try to dig out and look for adventures elsewhere! I知 working on my housetraining right now and will need some extra follow up when I get adopted. I am told I知 really sweet and a fun fella, so if you think your right for me, if you have another pup and a SECURE fence, and if your ready for a lifetime of fun with me, then call FFAS today! Natasha

Hello, my name is Natasha, but you can call me Tasha. I am five years old and I'm still in my prime. I like to chase cats, so I hope you don't have any....not too happy with small children either. I love to cuddle on the couch with my foster mom and my favorite place to sleep is on the bed with her, but when she insists, I sleep in a crate. I am house trained and very lovable.

Caylee

Hi, my name is Caylee and I'm a Chihuahua mix. They say I'm around 5 lbs. I came from a nice lady who could no longer care for me. I've grown attached to my foster mom and would love to have my forever mom. But it's going to take someone with some patience because I'm very scared at first. I warm up fast. I need a home with a fence in yard so that I can run and play. I'm good with other dogs and I'm learning to leave the cat alone (of course, most cats are bigger then me). If you think you have the patience and love for me just call FFAS today. ! Click on Picture for larger Image

Little Cheyenne

Hi my name is Cheyenne. Since my foster family has another dog named Cheyenne, they call me "Little Cheyenne" now.  I'm  a "Death Row Dog"... DRD for short.  I went to prison for obedience training.  I've graduated from the DRD Program and also have the AKC Good Canine Award.  Pretty impressive huh? I 'm kind of shy at first, so if you want to adopt me, just be a little patient. My prison trainer sent a letter with me to help you learn my signals.  I'd love to have a real home. I promise that I will always be good 'cause I don't want to ever go back to prison.  Click on Picture for larger Image

How to Adopt Me

Honey

Hello, I’m Honey and I’m hoping to find the perfect home. I was found one day by some kind, an gentle rescuers that saved myself and my litter of puppies just a few days after they were all born. I was so happy to have the help with all those puppies that I didn’t even growl once when the rescuers picked my pups up. One by one, I made sure that all my puppies have found good homes, well now it’s my turn to find a home. I love to be with people, other dogs, and I’m starting to be curious about cats. I am now spayed, had all my shots, and tested negative for heartworms. I am also crate trained and very smart. If you think you can give me the kind, loving home I so greatly deserve, then call FFAS today and let’s meet! I can’t wait to be home when waiting for you when you walk in and say “Honey! I’m home!” Click on Picture for larger Image

Otis

My name is Otis. I was looking for some food outside the H.G. Hills Store and was busted. I am a 6 month old puppy so I don’t think it will go on my adult record. I’m very sweet but all puppy. I’m learning my house manners but sometimes I like to chew on things I’m not suppose to. I’m doing really good on my house training. I get along with other dogs and I’ve learned to leave the cats alone. I will need a family willing to work with me and keep me very social. Please give me a chance to show you I can be good. Snickers

is a 4 year old Chocolate Lab and Irish Setter mix. He is very sweet and loves to shake hands. Snickers needs a family of his very own. He is very loving and wants someone to share his life with. Snickers has mainly been an outside dog but would love a home were he could hang out with his family. He has been housetrained. Snickers is good with other dogs and is good with cats with proper introduction. He loves to open the gate to your fence so he needs a yard with a secure latch on the gate. Snickers likes kids and adults but is a little active for small children. Snickers would make a great companion for a settled adult family or a family with older kids. How to adopt me

Max

Max is a wonderful dog. He spent 10 weeks in training at a local prison. He is very scared around children and tends to snap at them, so it would be best for him to go to a home with no small children. When Max first was turned over to the prison, he was very sensitive about his ears, and they thought maybe children use to pull them. He has gotten over the ear sensitivity. He loves to run and play. We've been told he was trained to ring a bell when he needs to go outside. His adoptive parents will need to work with him to refresh his training. Click on Picture for larger Image

Guinness and OC

About Guinness:I adopted him from Murphy Rd. vet. He was 6 weeks old. He is now 2 years old. Guinness is very loving & likes to heard anyone or other animal he can. He is part German Shepperd, Blue Healer & Beagle. He is very protective of his family & is cautious of strangers. He is like a big baby & likes to be carried & sit on my lap. He weighs aprox. 55 pounds. He is fixed & up tp date on his shots. About OC: OC wandered into my yard (about 7 months ago) when I lived in East Nashville off of the golf course. He is part lab & pit bull. He is a lover! He would sit in my lap all day if I let him. He barks if a stranger approaches, but can easily be won over by strangers. OC needs additional training to stop jumping up on people & when it comes to walking him. He can easily jump over short fences. He has a very gentle & playful personality. OC weighs aprox. 60 pounds & isaprox. 2 years old. He is fixed & all shots are up to date. They both are use to living inside & outside a house. Currently they live outside. I feed them both 1/2 can of wet food & 2 cups of dry each day. Please Contact Noelle nleon@comcast.net if interested in either Guinness or OC. Click on Picture for larger Image
