Dogs Available for Adoption

Macy small 1.jpg (3322 bytes)Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary's dog program takes in dogs in need of all shapes, sizes, breeds, colors. Dogs are screened for health and temperament before entering the system. Adoption Fee is $105 which includes: spay or neuter, shots, deworming, flea prevention, heartworm negative status, and heartworm prevention. All dogs are kept in foster homes until adopted. You can find out even more details about the personalities of these dogs by e-mailing the dogs' foster home, if the e-mail is listed next to the dog. You may fill out an Adoption Application & Adoption Contract if you are interested in adopting a dog from FFAS. Certain dogs have specific requirements, and needs, so not every application will be approved for every dog. This is to ensure that both adopter and adoptee find their best possible match.

Currently animals are available for potential adoption through our sponsor PetSmart locations in Goodlettsville (Rivergate)  Cats are housed on-site at PetSmart's "Luv-A-Pet Center" during business hours. Dogs are brought to these stores on Saturdays from 10 to 2. All potential adopters must submit an FFAS application, be approved, and then sign a contract with stipulations concerning the animal's welfare. FFAS insures a proper fit between the family and their new pet through follow-up contact with the adopter.

For more information on the dog program: How to volunteer, How to become a foster parent, how to adopt a dog please e-mail Dog Coordinator, Kim Patton

Blue

Hey there, I'm Blue! I'm a 3-year-old Border collie mix that's looking for a forever family. I am neutered, had all my shots and tested negative for heartworms. I am kinda shy, but told I'm really sweet. It might take me a little bit to warm up to you, but I promise to be your loyal friend when I do. I am housetrained and I like other dogs that aren't aggressive. I am really excited to get a forever home, so if you think you have the love that I'm looking for, then call FFAS today!

Bo and Rascal

Hi ya! We're Bo and Rascal and were looking for our forever home! Were two shih-tzu mix brothers that are   3 years old. We are neutered, had all our shots and tested negative for heartworms. We love being together and need each other to be happy, so we will HAVE to be adopted together, no ifs and or buts, about it. We're family and won't be separated. Besides, were great entertainment! Our foster Momma was watching us play wrestle just yesterday and laughing at how cute we were! We get along great with other dogs and cats and were working on house and leash training. We will also sleep in our own beds, even though we'd prefer to snuggle with our foster momma in the big bed. Since were not quite leash trained, we will HAVE to go to a home with a fenced yard. But were little dogs so it doesn't have to be a huge fence. So, if there's room in your heart for two sweet lil' brothers that both need your love and your fenced yard, then call FFAS today and come wrestle with us!

Bronson

Hey, I’m Bronson. I’m a dachshund that’s between 1-3 years old. I’m neutered, had all my shots and tested negative for heartworms, and I am looking for my forever home. I was turned over to a shelter when my guardian went to jail. I love my foster papa though, so I’m good with people, but, I can’t go to a home with kids. I’m housetrained, and walk great on a leash. I’m a pretty awesome dachshund! I need to find a home with a family that has experience with dachshunds though, so if that sounds like you, then call FFAS today!

Dee

Dee is a wonderful dog; one of the best fosters that I have had. We have had her around lots of people, at least one child, LOTS of cats, other dogs, horses and she does great. She walks well on a leash. She obeys, and is not food aggressive. She loves to go in the car (and doesn't get carsick.) She loves to be around people! She does both inside and outside and is house trained. We have allowed her on some furniture and not on others and she is okay with both. She lays down when you tell her to and will lay on a rug or bed. She likes to follow you around. She is the nicest, most well mannered foster dog I have had. Dee might be a little shy at first, but will make someone the perfect companion dog! Click on Picture for larger Image

Gavin

Hey there, I’m Gavin! I’m a 6 month lab mix looking for my perfect home! I have been neutered, had all my shots and tested negative for heartworms. I love other dogs and cats, but I’m not as active as pups usually are. I am looking for a home that’s loving and patient and willing to teach me to play and be a silly happy puppy. Not sure about my past, but when I was rescued and first got to play on the grass, I wasn’t sure what it was, some things are kinda foreign to me, but I know with the right person or family you will introduce me to the world and teach me to love it! If you think that’s you, then contact FFAS today!

Jasmine

This is Jasmine. She was a “drop-off” that wandered up to a farm North of Nashville. Jasmine is a spayed Border Collie mix (possibly with Lab), approximately 2 years p;d. and a super sweet companion. She does great with kids of all ages (she is currently in a foster home with a 19 month old) and loves to cuddle and receive affection. She is house trained and currently has access to a “doggy door” and fenced yard. Jasmine does well with laid back cats, but gets excited and chases high-strung ones. Note to potential forever homes: If you have other dogs in your home, please be aware that there may be an initial establishment of dominance. Jasmine currently lives peacefully in a foster home with two other medium-large dogs (and a cat) who she loves to play with. There was, though, an initial confrontation which lasted about an hour. She would definitely do better with dogs her size or larger. Again, she loves to play with other dogs after meeting, and is truly a sweetheart with people of all ages. She would make a wonderful addition to any loving family. Click on Picture for larger Image

Josie

Hi everyone! My name is Josie. We think that I am a 14-16 week old Pyrenees/Collie mix. I am spayed and up to date on my vaccinations, and working very successfully on house training. Surprisingly for my age, I've only had a couple accidents in the house! My foster family has three other dogs that I love to play with, and they also have a toddler that loves to receive all of my kisses! There is also a cat here, but he doesn't like to play very much. Sometimes we just lay together, which is definitely cool with me. I get in trouble sometimes because, as a puppy, I have a hard time figuring out which toys are mine and which ones are the baby's. I always make up for it by cuddling with my foster parents. I love when they pet me, especially when they scratch behind my soft puppy ears! I love being here with all of my friends and my foster family, but I would love to have a forever home of my own. One of my friends, Jasmine, is a foster dog here too, and it would be so awesome if we could find a home together! We've become best friends the past few weeks, and love to sleep and play with each other. She is a couple years older than I am, a Border Collie/Lab mix, and can be found on Freedom Farm's website or Petfinder.com, too! Please contact FFAS to find out more about me, Jasmine, or any of my other new foster friends at Freedom Farm! Click on Picture for larger Image

Natasha

Hello, my name is Natasha, but you can call me Tasha. I am five years old and I'm still in my prime. I like to chase cats, so I hope you don't have any....not too happy with small children either. I love to cuddle on the couch with my foster mom and my favorite place to sleep is on the bed with her, but when she insists, I sleep in a crate. I am house trained and very lovable.

Nico

Hey! I’m Nico. I’m an Akita almost two years old. I’m looking for that family that’s a a perfect fit for me. I am housetrained, kennel trained and being worked with to perfect leash training. I have to go to a home where I am the only dog, and I especially need to go to a home that understands or has experience with Akitas. I don’t get along with other male dogs, but I might get along with right female dog. I was rescued from a kill shelter, so not a lot is known about my past, but I’m only concerned with my future. If you have the right home for an awesome Akita like me, then call FFAS today.

Rose Beth

Hey There all! I’m Rose Beth. I’m a tiny little dwarf Jack Russell. I’m so small that I can’t jump up on the furniture or even go up and down the stairs! I’m about 8 years old, but I’m very active and love to play. I have been spayed, had all my shots and tested negative for heartworms. I do have a skin condition that is under control and very treatable, and will require special attention for the rest of my life. I was much loved in my previous home, so I won’t accept anything less from my next and last home. If you have room in your heart for my tiny, adorable self, then call FFAS today and let’s meet

Bounty   Hey there, my name is Bounty, as in Bounty Hunter, but I'm no tough guy that's for sure. I'm a big ole sweety! I'm about a year and a half old. I was just neutered, had all my shots and tested negative for heartworms. I am already house trained and if I'm in for to long, I will use the piddle pads. I walk pretty well on a leash and only pull a little. I am a puppy so I get excited easily and will need someone to be patient and work with me on my manners. I need a forever home that's willing to continue my training and be patient with me, as I am STILL A PUPPY. I'm good with other dogs but not sure about kids or cats. I'm not mean to anyone! I have to go to a home with a fenced yard and whomever is interested in me will have to submit to a home check and interview. If you'd like to meet me, contact Mandy at poppygurl31@yahoo.com Click on Picture for larger Image

Casey    Hi, My name is Casey and I am 10 months old. I am a 31.6 pound small Shepard mix. I am enjoying a warm and dry house for the first time with my rescue mother. She can't keep me, but wants me to have a good home where people will love me. I was found tied to a run with no water or food. I had a plastic clothes hamper turned upside down for a dog house. Although my bones are still showing, I am doing my best to gain weight. I am housebroken and crate friendly; I have had my shots and was spade just last week. I love people and other dogs. If you want a loyal companion, I promise to be your best friend. Click on Picture for larger Image
