Our DOGS

Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary's dog program takes in dogs in need of all shapes, sizes, breeds, colors. Dogs are screened for health and temperament before entering the system. Adoption Fee is $120 which includes: spay or neuter, shots, micro-chip, deworming, flea prevention, heartworm negative status, and heartworm prevention. All dogs are kept in foster homes until adopted. You can find out even more details about the personalities of these dogs by e-mailing the dogs' foster home, if the e-mail is listed next to the dog. You may fill out an Adoption Application & Adoption Contract. If you are interested in adopting a dog from FFAS. Certain dogs have specific requirements, and needs, so not every application will be approved for every dog. This is to ensure that both adopter and adoptee find their best possible match. Currently animals are available for potential adoption through our sponsor PetSmart locations in Goodlettsville (Rivergate).

Cats are housed on-site at PetSmart's "Luv-A-Pet Center" during business hours. Dogs are brought to these stores on Saturdays from 10 to 2. All potential adopters must submit an FFAS application, be approved, and then sign a contract with stipulations concerning the animal's welfare. FFAS insures a proper fit between the family and their new pet through follow-up contact with the adopte. Because of transportation issues, you must live in the Middle Tennessee area to adopt a dog from Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary.

THOR
Date Added: 01/19/12
Hi, my name is Thor. I am a bouncing baby boy of 9-10 months. I am neutered, up to date on all my shots, on flea & tick protection and heartworm preventative. I go to daycare everyday and play with lots of other dogs. My favorite activities are playing fetch, wrestling with my doggie friends and playing in water. My daycare is teaching me basic manners so I can be the best doggie ever. If you like to run or jog I would make an excellent running partner. My requirements are a fenced yard so I can have ample room to run and play fetch with you, my foster mom also needs a veterinary reference and a home check to make sure I get the best home possible

SADIE
Date Added: 01/19/12
My name is Sadie and I am almost 1 year old. My foster mom found me out in the snow looking for food,( I was pretty hungry). I feel so much better now that they have taken me to the vet and cleaned me up. I love to run and play, and my foster mom says I prance when I walk. Im a little nervous of strangers, but if you are nice to me I warm up pretty quickly. I would love to have a forever home where I can curl up with you at night and be your best buddy. Foster mom says Im doing great on learning that potty is for outside only. I weigh 32 lbs and I am very gentle and quite charming. A healthy pet is a happy pet! BLONDIE
Date Added: 01/19/12
This is Blondie. We think she's 2-3 years old. She's very sweet but would love to be an only dog. We can't blame her. She was found as a stray and looks like she's hard a hard life on the street. Part of her left ear is missing and she's has many scars on her face. She is safe now and will not have to fight for survival anymore. She is being spoiled in her foster home and will need a home that will continue to spoil her. If you are interested please e-mail Kim at akitas2love@yahoo.com A healthy pet is a happy pet! CHESTER
Date Added: 01/20/12
Meet Chester. He’s a Beagle mix and around 1-2 years old. He’s a wonderful boy who does well with other dogs. He hasn’t been tested with cats but doesn’t show any aggression. Chester is house trained. He didn’t have the best start in life. He’s previous owner’s left in him a pen to die in Alabama. Lucky for everyone, one of our volunteers was there taking care of her grandmother when she saw him. She tried to have animal control go after his previous owners but with no luck. So she picked him up and brought him home. Chester is healthy and now looking for a forever home.

SOPHIE & MOLLY
Date Added: 01/20/12
Sophie(the larger dog) and Molly. They have to stay together because Molly did not have an appetite without her friend. They were both vaccinated, tested, dewormed and placed on Interceptor while here. They have been abandoned and signed over to Apache Trail. They are both spayed, both are 8 years old. Molly has a limp and is on a heart medicine daily, but both are as friendly as can be. We have fallen in love with them and would like to place them together if at all possible. If you can give these girls a home they deserve, contact Kim at akitas2love@yahoo.com

Bella
Date Added: 02/01/12
Meet Bella. Bella is a 5 year old Chihuahua. Bella is very sweet and doing good with other dogs in her foster home. Bella was an owner surrender to a kill shelter along with 2 other Chihuahuas. Bella is a special needs girl because sometime in her past, her pelvis was broken and no one took her to the vet so her pelvis healed wrong and when going to relive herself causes her some discomfort. We have Bella on Stool softener to try and easy some of her discomfort. Which she will likely always need to be stool softener. Bella has seen a surgeon but he said that operating would likely cause more damage and shes a happy little girl. This doesnt slow Bella down. She loves to play with the other dogs (although shes a little sore afterwards) and loves to sleep in the bed. If you think you can give Bella the home she deserves contact Kim at akitas2love@yahoo.com

MR. JINGLES
Date Added: 01/20/12
My name is Mr. Jingles, and I am an extremely sweet and cuddly terrier mix! I am about 7 years old, neutered, and up to date on my shots. I weigh around 20 pounds, and love to snuggle up in a blanket, doggie bed, pillow, or a human’s lap. I do great with kids, cats, and other dogs, but I’m not super playful so being alone is ok too. I am getting the hang of going potty outside all the time, and have accidents very rarely. I am very low maintenance and low energy, so a human companion of any age would suit me well. I rarely bark, don’t chew on things I’m not supposed to, and prefer to cuddle and give kisses whenever I can. I am looking for a loving forever home!

SOPHIE
Date Added: 01/20/12
Sophie is a puppy mill survivor. She lived her whole life in a kennel but not anymore. She's learning to trust people again and does well with other dogs. We haven't tested her with cats but her temperament is good and we are thinking she'll do fine with cats. We'd love her Sophie to go to a quiet home where someone will be with her most of the time. She does love to sleep in the bed now.
